GIRIH set of two candle holders by Wonmin Park

GIRIH are decorative geometric patterns that have been utilized in Moorish architecture for more than a thousand years. Having seen these star- and flower-like shapes in the Alhambra Fortress of Granada, Wonmin Park created this candleholder based on similar geometries, brought to life using high-end 3D printing.

Korean designer Wonmin Park worked with prestigious Dutch design agencies before founding his own studio in 2011. He lives and works between Rotterdam and Paris. Using mainly resin and metal — and aiming for an impression of lightness and purity in his works — Wonmin Park conceives each of his pieces as if they were sculptures. His work has been exhibited at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, among others, and his collectible design collections are represented by Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
